Customizing the Welcome Page
- Login as admin
- Select "Welcome Page"
- In the News window select Edit or "Add a News article"
- Put HTML in "Entry Text" box
- Select Save
How do I put Microsoft Office 2007 documents onto my web page
- Open Office document
- Select "Save as"
- Select "Other Formats"
- In the "Save as type:" field, select "Web Page" and save the document
- Office will create a folder with one or more html files.
- From the html file that you want displayed, copy the contents between the opening <body> tag and the closing </body> tag
- Paste the above contents by following the "Customizing the Welcome Page" instructions on this page
Security
Who will have access to my genealogy
By default, only people that you give access will be able to see living family members and all dead people can be viewed by everyone. There are many security options that you can configure, including the ability to make all your genealogy private.
To check if you can accept new users (valid for version 4.0.2)
- Login as admin
- Select "MyGedViewPortal"
- Select "User administration"
- Select "User List"
- Next to the admin user select "Edit"
- Make sure the "Email Address" field is correct
- Make sure the "Preferred Contact Method" is set to "Internal messaging with emails"
- Logout
- Request a new account
- Check your email as defined above for a message requesting a new account
