Ward I412 - Contributor "Christine", 3rd great granddaughter to Charles Rice Ward Acknowledgements My greatest thanks to the following groups of people without whom I might never have been able to get as far as I have in this endeavor. To computer geeks everywhere who imagined and devised the internet and the tools for me to be among the first generation with the ability to “virtually travel” to far away places to find and collect information I would otherwise have not had the means to do To William E. Ward, my "Uncle Bill", who through his manuscript, "Family History of William E. Ward", opened my eyes to just how large and extraordinary my family was and is. For trusting and encouraging me to continue with the research and even though we don’t see each other for years at a time, live thousands of miles apart, has always made me feel I am a welcomed, loved and a valued member of this grand family of ours. To my mother and my grandmother who have given me a lifetime of family stories to share with my children. To my husband and children, who with great love have patiently listened to and read all of my “exciting finds” and tolerated my countless hours “searching and typing” on the computer. To all in our family who have given us the opportunity to walk with them through their memories. These “memory walks” were essential to discovering new paths to familial research. To our ancestors who in their daily living left the threads that our family historians, contributors, and story tellers have collected and woven into this Kindred Tapestry. -Jane
